Public.com Unveils AI-Powered ‘Generated Assets’ Tool for Custom Index Creation
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

New York-based investing platform Public.com has introduced a new AI-driven feature named “Generated Assets,” enabling users to create personalized equity indexes based on thematic ideas. This tool allows investors to input simple text prompts, such as “companies with flat organizational structures” or “CEOs under 40,” to generate custom indexes. The AI system analyzes company filings and public data to identify stocks matching the specified criteria.

Once an index is generated, it undergoes backtesting against historical market data and is benchmarked against the S&P 500 to assess performance. While direct investment in these custom indexes isn’t available yet, users can monitor and share their creations via a leaderboard on the platform. Public.com plans to introduce investment capabilities for these indexes in the near future.

Launched in 2019, Public.com has raised over $400 million from investors, including Accel and Tiger Global. The platform supports long-term investing across various asset classes, such as stocks, bonds, crypto, and options. The addition of “Generated Assets” reflects the growing trend of integrating AI tools into investment platforms to offer greater customization and accessibility for individual investors.
